JAKESS runs 12 Mahkamah Rendah Syariah across the state.[2] A hadhanah claim usually goes to the court covering where the child lives day to day, a detail that can differ from where the marriage itself was registered.

Selangor’s mutual-consent fast-track resolves the marriage quickly, but it does not settle hadhanah by itself. The child’s arrangement still needs its own record, even when the divorce itself moves fast.

File at the Mahkamah Rendah Syariah for the district where your child actually lives now, not necessarily where the marriage was registered. For a Klang-based child, that is usually the Klang court, even if the nikah itself was registered in Shah Alam.
Our address is close to a district line. How do I know which Selangor court is mine?

We used Selangor's fast-track divorce. Does that also decide who keeps the children?
No. The fast-track resolves a mutual-consent divorce quickly, but hadhanah is a separate matter. Parents who already agree on a care arrangement can have it recorded alongside the fast-track case, while a disputed claim still goes through the ordinary hearing process.
Is Shah Alam the only Selangor court that decides hadhanah cases?
No. Shah Alam houses the Mahkamah Tinggi Syariah and JAKESS headquarters, but Selangor's 12 district courts each hear hadhanah claims for their own catchment. Most families attend the district court nearest to the child, not Shah Alam.
