Editorial Policy

How we research

We base content on official and reputable sources: the Jabatan Kehakiman Syariah Malaysia, state Islamic family law enactments, and JAKIM guidance. We show sources on pages that need them, such as pages about claims or procedure.

We do not rely on forums, unverified blog posts, or secondhand summaries as a primary source. When official wording is unclear, we say so rather than guess.

How we write

Each language version is written on its own, in English, Bahasa Malaysia, or Chinese, matching how readers in Malaysia actually speak and search. We do not machine-translate one language into another.

Sentences are kept short and direct. We avoid legal jargon where a plain term works just as well, and we explain a term the first time it appears.

Review, updates, and corrections

Family law enactments and procedures can change. We review pages against current sources and update them when something changes.

If you spot an error, message us on WhatsApp with the page and the detail you think is wrong. We check it against our sources and correct the page if needed.

What we choose not to publish

When we cannot verify a fact, a figure, or a procedure against an official or reputable source, we leave it out of the page. We would rather publish less than publish something wrong.
