Talak Raj'i: the type of divorce that still allows reconciliation

Talak raj’i is the term for talak satu and talak dua, the type of divorce that still allows the husband to reconcile with his wife during the iddah period, without needing a new marriage contract.

For example, after the husband pronounces a talak raj’i, the wife enters iddah, but the marriage is not fully ended. The husband can state reconciliation clearly, or through an act the court accepts as reconciliation, and this needs to be reported following the state’s procedure.

Talak raj’i differs from talak ba’in, such as the type used in khuluk, where reconciliation is not allowed without a new contract even during iddah.
