Mahkamah Rendah Syariah Ampang is one of the more recent additions to JAKESS’s 12 Mahkamah Rendah Syariah. It was established on 27 June 2014, carved out of what had been Hulu Langat’s caseload for the Mukim Ampang area.[1]
If you were told your case falls under Hulu Langat but you live in Ampang, this newer court may now be the correct one.
Inside an office tower, not a standalone building
The registry sits at Menara A, Persiaran MPAJ, Jalan Pandan Utama, Pandan Indah, a high-rise address rather than a dedicated courthouse.[1] Confirm the floor before you go, since a tower can have several government counters at once.
The address itself carries a Kuala Lumpur postcode, though the court’s jurisdiction is Mukim Ampang in Selangor. That boundary quirk repeats at a couple of other Selangor district courts too.
Not a Wilayah Persekutuan court
Because Pandan Indah reads as a KL address, some residents assume this is a Wilayah Persekutuan matter. It is not. Ampang’s court runs under Selangor’s enactment and JAKESS, separate from the court that hears Kuala Lumpur’s own cases.
