Khuluk Iwadh: the payment that redeems talaq

Iwadh is the payment a wife gives her husband in return for redeeming the talaq in a khuluk divorce.

The amount can be agreed between the couple, for example matching the original mas kahwin, or set by the Syariah Court if they cannot agree.^[1]

There is no fixed figure for every case, because the court weighs financial circumstances and the marriage’s background before setting a reasonable amount.
