JKSM (Jabatan Kehakiman Syariah Malaysia): what it does

JKSM, or Jabatan Kehakiman Syariah Malaysia, is the federal department that coordinates Syariah courts across the country. It is not a court itself, but the body that sets the administrative guidelines and systems the state courts use.

One of JKSM’s main systems is e-Syariah, the online platform for filing and tracking cases. When you file for divorce at your state’s Mahkamah Tinggi Syariah, much of the procedure follows the framework JKSM coordinates.

JKSM also publishes guidelines and statistics that help lawyers and the public understand how the court process works. Each state still keeps its own enactment and court under this shared framework.
