Wakil Diri: representing yourself at the Syariah Court

Wakil diri means you appear and run your own case at the Syariah Court without appointing a Peguam Syarie to represent you.

You can act as wakil diri for simpler matters like a mutual-consent divorce application, but a contested case such as fasakh or a property claim usually needs more detailed evidence and argument.

The court still allows wakil diri, but you carry full responsibility for preparing documents, attending every session, and understanding the procedure yourself.
