Taklik (husband's promise made after the marriage contract)

Taklik is a promise recited by the husband right after the marriage contract, usually about his duty to care for his wife. If he breaches that promise, the wife can apply to the Syariah Court for divorce on that ground.

A common case: a husband promises not to leave his wife without maintenance beyond a set period, and when he actually does so, the wife files for a taklik divorce.
