Suami Mungkir: when the husband breaks his taklik promise

Suami mungkir means the husband failed to keep the taklik promise made during or after the marriage contract, such as a promise to provide maintenance or not to leave his wife without reasonable cause within a set period.

A common example is a husband who does not provide maintenance for several months in a row, or disappears without contact. When this happens, the wife can file a cerai taklik application at the Syariah Court based on the broken promise.
