Perakuan Cerai: interim proof before the full certificate

Perakuan cerai is a temporary document issued by the court confirming that a divorce has happened or is being processed, while the full sijil cerai is being prepared.

This document is sometimes needed quickly, for instance to update records with a government agency or for employment purposes, while the official certificate is still being issued after the iddah period ends.

A perakuan cerai is not a substitute for the sijil cerai. Both should be checked carefully, since some matters, such as registering a new marriage, may require the full certificate rather than just this interim proof.
