Sulh Officer (Pegawai Sulh)

A Sulh Officer is the court officer who leads the Sulh session, the mediation process between husband and wife before a case moves to trial.

Their role is to help both sides reach understanding, not to take sides or make a final decision.

In real cases, a Sulh Officer can suggest a resolution on maintenance, custody or property before the matter goes to a Hakim Syarie.

If mediation fails, the case moves on to the next stage in court.
