Nafkah Anak (a father's financial duty to his children)

Nafkah anak is the financial duty a father carries to support his children, regardless of whether he holds physical custody. It continues after divorce.

A common case: a mother who holds hadhanah can file a nafkah anak claim at the Syariah Court if the father does not pay voluntarily, and the court sets a monthly amount.

This duty normally ends when the child turns 18, but can be extended if the child is still studying or has a disability.
