Kes Mal: civil claims at the Syariah Court

Kes mal is the term for a civil claim at the Syariah Court, separate from a syariah criminal case involving offences like an unreported marriage or an out-of-court divorce.

A divorce application, a maintenance claim, a custody claim and a division of harta sepencarian are all registered as kes mal. Each kes mal gets its own case number for reference and status checks.
