Islamic Family Law Act/Enactment

The Islamic Family Law Act is the federal law that governs Muslim marriage, divorce, maintenance and child custody.

It is the base reference for most claims discussed on this site, such as fasakh, cerai taklik and child maintenance.

In real cases, the judge refers to the relevant Act or state enactment when deciding a case, depending on which court is handling it.

Every state has its own enactment built on the same structure, though section numbers can differ.
